At Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare & Adoption Center we make a commitment to provide every animal in our care with shelter, nutrition, medical care, training and enrichment while seeking a loving forever home. There are times when some dogs at our Welfare Center make it a bit more of a challenge to know what they need to feel secure and comfortable. We wish we could ask them what’s on their mind, what can we do to help, what can we do to make you feel OK with the world.

It’s at times like this that Pawsome University has been an invaluable resource for Sammy’s Hope. Jaime Caponetta, with her knowledge of canine behavior and experience, has guided the leadership of Sammy's Hope in understanding what these dogs are telling us through their behavior so that we can provide an environment in which they can learn and thrive to be able to move on to find loving forever families. Jaime not only understands the dogs behavior and needs but she has also been instrumental in helping our volunteers understand how to handle and properly interact with the shelter animals.

Even with post adoption support, Pawsome University has worked with adoptive families to ensure a smooth transition from shelter to home life for their new family members, resulting in more successful adoptions. We have received such positive feedback from past adopters who worked with Pawsome University to help them integrate their new furry family member into their home.
